Haircuts

What do I do when I get home from a haircut? You know, the usual. Get horrified with your once-beautiful hair and put some magical growing serum on it. Okay, I don’t panic that much, but it’s NEVER my choice to get a haircut. Two haircuts back, I had requested the split ends to be cut off. Unfortunately, in hair cutter language, that meant to the bottom of my neck, which wouldn’t be so bad if my hair wasn’t so long. Unfortunately, it was. I smiled my thanks to the nice lady who had spent so long straightening my messy hair. When I got home, I looked in the mirror to see if the lighting there had somehow done something. Nope. Just the same. It wasn’t so bad though. Many people thought that it made me look more mature and older. Unfortunately for me, a year later, my mom had plans to go to the shop again. She had requested the same side bangs that I had had in 4th grade. Ones that would be noticeable when my hair was down, and not when my hair was up. I guess I didn’t explain myself well enough, because I came back home with bangs that weren’t even long enough to go behind my ear. We’ll just have to see what comes next year!

Fountain Pens

When my mom came back home and announced that she had ordered a box of “fountain pens” I really had no idea what she was talking about. Pens that had fountains of ink? A fountain of pens? However, when they arrived, I saw what she really meant. These were disposable fountain pens, meaning that they were to be used as regular pens. From the outside, it looked like a regular capped pen. But from the inside, it looked like a pen from the ‘50’s. It had a metal nib with real ink inside it. When I wrote with it, I found out that only one side of the pen can be used, which is a real bother, but using a fountain pen made my handwriting SO good (which really helps me). So if you see a $15 box of fountain pens on Amazon, don’t ignore it, buy it!

Our Pollinators

Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths and more are all types of pollinators. You may think that they fly around doing nothing, but they actually do more than you might think. Unfortunately, pollinators are dying out very quickly. Not only do we get honey from them, we also get chocolate, coffee, and over 4000 different vegetables. If pollinators die out, think of what will happen. No tomatoes, no carrots, no CHOCOLATE!! And adults, think of if this happened…. No COFFEE!! In 2006, many beekeepers noticed that their bees were rapidly dying out. Nobody knows exactly why, but we have a few reasons about why this phenomenon may be happening. Many pesticides are harmful to bees, and pollution has also caused pollinators to die. Recently, scientists have observed that huge colonies of bees have been dying in large numbers, and this is called Colony Collapse Disorder. Of all animals, bees are the most effective pollinator. So remember, if you want your chocolate and coffee, don’t kill the bees!

Problems in our Country

Although the USA is a great country, people still have some minor issues that happen every single day. Most of these problems don’t harm people very much, but that doesn’t stop them from driving you crazy. Here is a list of five of our most annoying problems.

1.Forgetting your cell phone charger on a trip
Sometimes, I want a trip to go perfectly, so I make a checklist of everything that I need. Then, when we are halfway to our destination, I realize that I forgot my charger.
2. Your earbud wires are all tangled up
Earbud wires are very thin and stretchy, so whenever they get tangled, it’s hard to untangle them.
3. Mosquito bites
Especially when you are about to go to an important place, when a mosquito bites you, it’s itchy and irritating.
4. When the item you want is out of stock
When you are shopping online or at a store and you are looking for something specific, and it’s out of stock, the story very annoying.
5. Being the only person that hasn’t finished eating
At restaurants, it’s sometimes awkward if you are the only person still eating while everyone’s staring at you.

Words and Talking

Sometimes, you want to talk. Sometimes, you want to silent. Sometimes, you even want to lists instead of talk. If you have just had an exciting moment in your life, such as a party or a trip, you might want to tell every single person about every single thing that just happened. However, maybe you’re on a bus in a new place, and you want to just look out the window and enjoy the pretty scenery, and you don’t want anyone talking to you. You don’t want to talk to anyone either. And then there are those moments when you don’t want to focus on yourself, and you want to hear others instead. I usually don’t think too much about speech-I’ve talked for as long as I remember. Every day, I talk to so many people about so many different things. Words can hurt, but words can also make you feel better. Words can be fun, like if you are reading a book, and words can also be used too often. When you talk, some words are unique, like rendezvous, and some are simple, like bold. What we say is actually very important, if you think about what you do when you speak. Words mean a lot!

A New Place to Write

After a  whole year,  this one post will be at the very bottom of this new blog. In fact, after a  year, this blog won’t be brand new. New things about yourself can be found  while you are writing your own blog, or for that matter, reading someone else’s blog. New things to read, new things to write, even a new  favorite food, or a favorite season can be found, dug up from underneath all of those emotions and thoughts that you store inside your head. Maybe many people will read this blog, or maybe only a few people will read this. However, that doesn’t matter. Today, this blog is a new place to write!!!
